Online Carlsbad Bookstore, Est. 2024. Please choose to shop indie with our fiction book shop. Our focus is on fantasy, romance, science fiction, horror, thriller, and occult books. Aber Stoat Books has been on a two-year journey to open a brick-and-mortar location in Carlsbad Village. We have been in the area since 2024 and have focused on saving the funds required for such an endeavor; every special order and every purchase has helped us to keep taking steps toward a physical location. Our priorities have been building community programming, bookseller education, and establishing connections with industry professionals and authors. We also have a dedicated indie publishing house; local writer submissions are wanted.

Mandy Parrey wears many indie hats: bookseller, publisher, and the writer behind the names ML Florez and Rivkah Plume. As the founder of Aber Stoat Books and Aber Stoat Publishing LLC, she focuses on connecting readers with unique titles in the fantasy, romance, thriller, and occult genres. Between publishing local writers, curating the bookshop’s collection, sourcing special editions and signed copies, and hosting the Olde Carlsbad Silent Book Club, she is reading and reviewing as many upcoming books as she physically can!
