Silent Book Club, Olde Carlsbad, is the Book Club for introverts. We meet in person on the last Friday of every month and online on Fridays leading up to the in-person meetup. As we get our barring, there will be one morning meetup per month.

What is Silent Book Club?

There are no assigned books. Bring whatever you are currently reading to enjoy (ebooks and audiobooks are welcome!)

Each gathering consists of an hour of quiet reading surrounded by other quiet readers, followed by an optional social hour to discuss books, life, or anything else you want.

There are no membership fees or costs to join, but we do ask that you purchase from the venue as we will be taking up space—we want to support our local businesses!

Go with the flow. Your hosts are volunteers, and the venue is a busy location.

Meeting Location

The meeting location will be at Paris Baguette Carlsbad unless noted otherwise on the last Friday of every month:

10:00-10:30am - Arrive and order drinks/food. Share what you're reading, if you like.

10:30-11:30am - Quiet reading hour (busy bakery, bring noise canceling headphones)

11:30-12:00pm - Optional socializing, or keep reading, restock on drinks & food.
