Silent Book Club, Olde Carlsbad, is the Book Club for introverts. We meet in person on the last Friday of every month, and for those who want to comment while you read-along, we have a Fable with a new book each month.

We have a new club addition: Audiobook Walk, every second Monday of the month.

What is Silent Book Club?

There are no assigned books. Bring whatever you are currently reading to enjoy (ebooks and audiobooks are welcome!)

Each gathering consists of an hour of quiet reading surrounded by other quiet readers, followed by an optional social hour to discuss books, life, or anything else you want.

There are no membership fees or costs to join, but we do ask that you purchase from the venue as we will be taking up space—we want to support our local businesses!

Go with the flow. Your hosts are volunteers, and the venue is a busy location.

B.Y.O. Book or Book of the Month

10:00-10:30 am - Arrive. Meet in the upstairs area after you order drinks/food. Share what you're reading if you like, and make chit chat while we wait for everyone to arrive.

10:30-11:30 am - Quiet reading hour! :)

11:30-12:00/30 pm - Optional socializing, or keep reading, restock on drinks & food.

New Club Addition for Silent Book Club Meetups

Purpose:
Carlsbad’s Silent Book Club chapter now has an Audiobook Walk hosted by Aber Stoat Books. A relaxed book club aimed at helping reading enthusiasts find time for books and enjoy light exercise in the fresh air.

Who Should Join:
Introverts, avid audiobook listeners, casual readers, and anyone looking for a relaxed, low-key way to unwind after work or dinner alongside fellow book lovers.

Why Join:
If you struggle to carve out dedicated time for books or want to enjoy fresh air and social connection without the pressure of constant small talk, this group is for you! Enjoy parallel audio reading, a scenic sunset view, and a quiet stroll at your own pace.

What to Bring:
Bring your audiobook, headphones, and walking shoes!

Walk Details:

Distance & Pace: An easy, 30-minute stroll (approx. 1½ mile loop) on a flat path.
Location: Walking trail overlooking The Flower Fields on Armada Drive.
Schedule: Second Monday of every month (unless posted otherwise).

Meeting Spot:

Arrival Window: 6:15 pm—6:30 pm.
Start Time: 6:31 pm sharp.
Exact Location: We meet on Armada Drive at the furthest triangle bumpout near the hotel (plenty of street parking available).
